  Published: 2 months ago

Orbital ATK S.S. Gene Cernan Cygnus was captured using the International Space Station’s robotic Canadarm2 on 14 November 2017, at 10:04 UTC. The OA-8 Cygnus Cargo Delivery Spacecraft was named after former astronaut Eugene “Gene” Cernan - the last human to step foot on the Moon. To deliver cargo to the International Space Station for the Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) OA-8 mission, Orbital ATK is using the Enhanced Cygnus Pressurized Cargo Module (PCM). The cargo capability of the Enhanced Cygnus, developed by Thales Alenia Space, is more than 3500 kg.
